This is a super easy recipe and the popsicles are great for summertime enjoyment. If you don’t care for lime, you can substitute the lime juice with fresh orange juice, grapefruit juice or lemon juice. A nice alternative for those of you who are tired of the same old, same old boring popsicle and looking for something a little different.
I will warn you though, small kids will not like these popsicles but teenagers and adults do! They are not fiery hot but there is a little bit of a kick to them thanks to the ground chili pepper. You can add as little or as much of that as you would like!
Chili Pepper & Lime Popsicles Recipe
1 popsicle mold (ours holds 12 popsicles)
2 cups cold water
5 large limes, juiced and seeds removed
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground chili pepper
In a medium saucepan combine together the water, lime juice, granulated sugar and the ground chili pepper. Heat over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour mixture into popsicle molds and freeze until firm.

Your comment about little ones were my thoughts exactly when I read this recipe…an adult Popsicle! Might try this and slip in a little tequila! 🙂
This is an unusual Popsicles that I do not think I will make. I am sure a lot of people would like these, but I will stick with the regular ice cream bars and fruit bars.
I have not tried using chili in icy desserts. It certainly would give the dessert a different taste twist. This is an interesting idea and I shall have to try this recipe.
I wonder if I could sub Habenero peppers in here – my husband has a liking for these lately.
Very different and can’t wait to try. I like chili lime rubs for meats but would never had thought of it in an icy treat. I bet the heat of the pepper and the coolness of the popsicle really get your mouth a burst of flavors. Bonus for me, a friend just gave me some fresh peppers from her garden.
Now this one surely is a different recipe. I’m not the fan of lime so I’d have to try with orange but I’ll bet it’s something most have not had. Thanks for sharing
Hmmm. I like chile/lime flavor in potato chips. I think I might like these. Will have to try them and see.
