Weight Watchers Fitness Kit: Yoga Starter Kit

June 11, 2013 by Classystaff

I know a lot of women that enjoy yoga for the peace and relaxation that comes from it. It is a fabulous method for working on the mind, body and soul as well as for strengthening your body and muscles. For those people that do not care for running or other strenuous exercise, yoga is a wonderful way to get those lean muscles we all dream about and if you do not want to join a class, there are plenty of DVD’s available so you can work out at home in private. Thankfully there are few items needed to do a yoga workout and a new kit from Weight Watchers that I was asked to review brings them right to you.
Weight Watchers Fitness Kit: Yoga Starter Kit
The Weight Watcher Yoga Starter Kit is a complete workout in a box! It comes with a DVD that offers 2 different workouts – along with options for beginner, intermediate and advanced users. You also get a yoga strap to help feel those muscles stretch and a yoga block to help balance in certain holds. There is a exercise tracker included too so you know how well you are doing.

I like the idea of having everything in one kit so you can start right away. As a beginner, some people may not know what they need, but this kit takes that away. The only other thing you would want to add is a nice thick mat.

The DVD routines are broken down into 2 different sequences. One is called “Get Moving” which is a standing routine that will take you through the poses and help get the heart pumping. Its works on the lower body for strengthening, toning and balance. This is nice and simple and perfect for beginners and a great warm up for all levels.

The second routine is called “Get Strong” and this is the floor routines that work on your poses and gaining more strength. It focuses on firming and toning the upper body and core. These work for adding great posture too! This is easily modified for the beginner to the advanced so no worries.

I like that you can choose which session that you want to work on and start nice a slowly. This is the perfect beginner set for anyone that is working weight loss or just needs to add some movement to their lives, without hitting the pavement. The teacher, Sarah Ivanhoe, is thorough and gives you step by step directions on each move.

I think these Weight Watcher kits are awesome! I love that they are coming to us from a beginner point of view and as an easy method to add some flexibility and strength training into a healthy lifestyle change that I am continually working on. This set has become a favorite of mine!
