** Complimentary Box Received for our Review **
Princess Gia just turned 4 years old a few days ago and loves to sit down with me and do a wide variety of crafts! When I look for arts & crafts projects for us to do together, I like them to be simple, inexpensive, easy-to-do and I like for them to be done within an hour.
In the past, I used to run out to our local craft store, spend hours browsing the store purchasing supplies and dragging them home. It was a costly venture because I had to purchase entire packages of supplies, when we only needed one item from the pack.
If this sounds like you…well guess what? There is a company called The Happy Trunk and I am excited to tell you all about them today. Now that Summer is here and the kids are out of school, this company is perfect to feature here on our blog.
About the Happy Trunk: The Happy Trunk is the answer to keeping young minds thinking and exploring during summer break. This wonderful box of surprises is overflowing with arts & crafts, science experiments and creative play items. You have two trunks to choose from: one for 3-7 year olds and one for 8-11 year olds, very age appropriate. Each box comes with all the materials and instructions! The best part – you don’t have to go anywhere to pick it up. Once you sign up for a subscription, The Happy Trunk is conveniently delivered right to your door each month! Monthly subscriptions start at $19.95.
Our Thoughts: We recently received one of The Happy Trunk creativity boxes for 3-7 year olds and we were really excited when it showed up at our door. Inside the box is all of the instructions and all of the supplies that you will need. In our box, we had supplies to make 3 completed arts & crafts projects.
With our supplies, we could make a kite, a sun-topped wand and some floral sun art. Everything was packaged nicely and in perfect condition. The instruction sheets give you a list of supplies, directions and a photo of the completed project.
The first project that we made was the Sun-Wand and I knew the Princess would pick that first since she loves anything that resembles a Princess wand. We sat down with her and had the wand completely assembled within 20 minutes. She had a lot of fun making her new wand with Nanny & Pappy!
The next project that we made was the floral sun art. This is a really quick & easy project and you simply collect small items from around the house, place them on the magic sun paper, take it outside to sit in the sun for a few minutes and then remove your items. Left behind on your paper is the outlines of the items! Princess picked some leaves and tiny flower out of our yard and used those. Once it was done, we placed her new artwork inside the included frame.
The final project is the kite which we are still working on. The templates, instructions and all supplies are in the kit. This project takes longer time to make because you need to let the glitter glue dry overnight. (hence why ours is not finished yet as I am waiting for Princess to come again next weekend to complete it). So far though, she has decorated her kite with stickers & the glitter glue…so assembly is next once she returns.
Overall, we are super pleased with these kits! We even had a few leftover supplies which we have put into Gia’s craft box for another day…she loves crafting and I have to admit, we both had fun completing them! Yay!

This is a fun idea for the kids . My grandson and I love to do crafts together. He would really enjoy this, having everything at hand for the craft is great to. thanks for the info
thats such a great idea!
I love the name “The Happy Trunk”. It makes me imagine finding an old trunk in the attic and opening it to find all sorts of surprises. This would be a great convenience for parents since it comes with all the supplies and the longer your suvbscription the cheaper the monthly cost.
Easily see where kids and parents -or grandparents – would like this. Most kids love crafts and would love having a new project each month. Parents would love the convenience of it coming right to your house and having all the supplies needed. You wouldn’t have to worry about searching around the store for just the right color or stencil.
