Strawberry Pineapple Freezer Jam Recipe

June 23, 2013 by Classystaff

I love strawberries and now that they are in season along with fresh pineapple, this recipe is a delicious one to make. It is a simple freezer jam that anyone can make with just a few ingredients. You can then enjoy this jam for up to 3 weeks and store it in the freezer for up to 6 months. Definitely a keeper and one that the entire family will love! Give it a try!

Ingredients:

1 pint of fresh strawberries, washed, drained and hulls removed
2 1/2 C of fresh pineapple, peeled and finely chopped
7 C sugar
2 pkgs (1 3/4 oz) powdered pectin
1 C cold water
4 pt freezer containers with lids

Directions:

Place strawberries in a large mixing bowl and crush the strawberries with a potato masher. Measure out 2 1/2 C strawberries and place in a separate bowl. Add the pineapple to the strawberries. Slowly add the sugar and stir until well combined.

Place the cold water in a saucepan over medium heat and add the pectin. Stir continuously until water begins to boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and pour the water mixture into with the fruit. Stir well to combine while continuing to stir 4 more minutes.

Pour into the pint freezer containers and cover. Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours and then freeze.

Jam will stay good in the freezer for up to 6 months. To use, remove from freezer and allow to come to room temperature, about 1 hour.

Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.

Omgoodness! My grandma made this when I was a kid!
I haven’t had it in years and haven’t ever seen a recipe for it.
Thank you a million times, gonna make some after next week’s trip to the Farmer’s Market for strawberries!

This is a really easy recipe to make Strawberry Pineapple Jam. I love these two fruits together, and this would be good on a bagel or toast. Thanks for an awesome recipe!

We love strawberries, too! While I’m not that big on pineapple, my husband and daughter both enjoy it. Summer is a great time for this…the strawberries are fresh and flavorful. You’d probably want to make extra…this would be a wonderful treat in the winter.

Well, I’m not a canner, so this recipe is very appealing to me. Unfortunately, our strawberry season is over, but I’m going to copy this and try it next year. Yummy!

I was not aware that you could make a freezer jam. This is a great delicious recipe to make and it is easy too! I can fool around with it and substitue fresh peaches, etc.
