Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Learning Resources who makes a wide variety of educational toys and games for children. When you visit the Learning Resources web site…you can shop as a Parent or as a Teacher. Furthermore, you can shop by age group, category, by brand or by subject. I love how user-friendly the Learning Resources site is! You will find activity sets & books, construction sets, active learning & play sets, discovery & exploration sets, electronic toys, games, puzzles, water & sand toys and a whole lot more! Everything on their site is extremely well-made and affordable.
My Review: For the review, I received a complimentary Primary Science Plant & Grow Set from Learning Resources. This set is for children ages 3 through 9 and I do suggest some parental supervision for the younger ones. This set will help to teach your child about horticultural (planting things and watching them grow) and it helps to teach them about science too! The set includes: 1 plastic watering can, 1 rooting tray, 1 observation jar, 2 solid 7 screened lids, 3 little flower pots, 1 trowel, 2 plastic plant markers and 10 activity cards to give you some ideas on how to use the set. Everything in this set is perfectly sized for smaller children. For example, the watering can measures 5″ by 7.35″ by 3.25″ in size. I appreciate that everything is made of plastic, so I don’t have to worry about Princess Gia getting hurt with the play pieces.
We took this set outdoors last weekend and left her pick out 2 tasks from the activity cards for us to do. She placed dirt into the little flower pots (with hubby’s help) with some wildflower seeds. They then placed dirt inside the observation jar with additional flower seeds. Once done, she filled up her watering can and lightly watered all of her creations. It has been almost a week and we are starting to see the seeds germinate and in a few days, I am sure we will see them all popping out of the dirt. She has been checking on her new little plants every 2-3 days and making sure everything is watered and growing right. (they are almost like her kids LOL). She is really enjoying this since she has been helping me in my garden for the past 2 months. Fabulous set to help teach kids about gardening, science and how to take care of something that is important to them! Big two-thumbs up!
