nuNAAT Karite Special with Shea Butter Hair Products
Ever since my son learned to swim, we could not keep him out of the water. By 5, he was on a swim team swimming hundreds of yards a day and now that he is in high school and on the varsity swim team, he is still a fish. He easily spends 3-4 hours a day in the pool and chlorine. You know what that can do to one’s hair!
I have seen my poor sons hair go from soft and beautiful to hard and crunchy because it was so dried out. I have gotten him several different products for overly dry hair and they work to an extent. His hair really is a special case and needed deep hydration as well as deep help! I heard that a company called nuNAAT had specialty products and I was able to get some for my son to try out and review.
The nuNAAT product line is different than some of the other professional hair care products. They focus specifically on a specific hair type, texture and problems that you may be having. I chose the collection called Karite Special with Shea Butter. Reading the description of the benefits helped me choose the proper one.
Here is why Karite should help with his hair:
Packed with vitamin A, D, E and F
Protects hair from harmful sun damage
No oily buildup or greasy residue
No clogged pores
Rehydrates, restores and revitalizes dry, damaged and brittle hair
Restores natural brilliance to chemically-processed hair
Protects hair from damage caused by daily flat iron use
Because the nuNAAT line is made for specific hair types, the products are meant to work as a complete system and understandably, not all products are right for all hair types. Since we were looking for deep hydration, the Karite set included 5 products. These are the Nourishing Shampoo, the Reconstructive Conditioner, the Leave in Detangler, the Special Deep Conditioning Hair Mask and the Thermo Active Anti-Frizz. We had a lot of work to do!
Of course, step one is the shampoo and conditioner. He used these on a daily basis for the past few weeks. The products contain shea butter which has been shown to be a great moisturizer for deep hydration. After just the first 2 uses, I saw a nice change for the better on his hair. The brittleness was going away and his hair felt much softer to the touch.
Occasionally, when the sons hair gets really long, he will get some frizz and that is just on the front portion. He also never blow drys his hair either. He did try out the anti frizz product one time and it did a nice job smoothing the hair down. But his hair is pretty short right now, so it really was not a product that he would use on a regular basis. The detangler was not something he could use either, although when his hair grows out, it may become one that will be used.
The deep conditioning hair mask is a super smooth cream that you can use a few times a month. It is thick and creamy but not overly thick. Zac used it easily by just scooping some into his hand and smearing it through his hair He left it on for 10 minutes or some and then rinsed very well. His hair came out feeling so soft and amazing. It reminded me of just a few years ago when his hair was normal, well, normal for him!
Overall, the products worked very well for my son. I am pleased with the texture of his hair and how soft it has become. It has a nice wave to it and it glows with shine. As the summer progresses and the daily swimming takes it normal toll, I will be interested to see how this works for him, in the long run. From what we have seen in the past 2 weeks, I think it will do well for him.
nuNAAT also has many other collections and products for different hair types and problems you many be having. Whether you have processed hair, dry hair, brittle or normal, they will have the right product for you. Stop by and check them out.
