Natur’el Tea is a Canadian tea company specializing in hand blended organic teas from around the world. Be it herbal blends, black, Oolong, green, white, or Mate, Natur’el is your go to for a quality cuppa.

I gave up coffee of good a few weeks back. It wasn’t really my choice. Caffeine and I have a codependent relationship and coffee was my vehicle of choice. When my blood pressure spiked to near stroke levels after a cup, it was time to say goodbye. I haven’t touched it since except to brew a few cups for hubby in the morning. I’m not tempted to have a drop. Besides, I don’t need it when I have such a wide variety of teas to choose from. Just in time, as if they knew somehow, Natur’el Tea in Banff asked if I’d like to give their teas a try. Perfect! This Canadian tea company specializes in hand blended organic teas from around the world. Delicious and affordable teas (with affordable shipping) perfect for feeding a tea addiction.

Natur’el Tea is an 8 year old company based in Banff in Alberta, Canada. They support sustainable and fair-trade agriculture and hand blend each formula in small batches for freshness. Their packaging is adorable and study, and shipping from their place to mine was quick. That’s no small feat considering it was shipped internationally. Natur’el Tea’s catalog includes black, Oolong, green white, herbal, Yeba Mate, and healing tea blends and accessories such as tea pots, infusers, travel mugs, and pitchers. It’s a nice selection. The Tea of the Month Club would make a great choice for loose tea fans or as a gift for someone leaving coffee behind. Yes, that’s a hint, hubby.

Natur’el offered a selection of five teas to try, so I chose a mix of my favorite types. The stress magnet in me was drawn to the herbal Stress Relieving Tea. This blend of White Mistletoe, Beanhip, St. John’s Wart, Birch Leaves, Gingko Leaves, Stinging Nettle, Lemongrass, and natural flavor was mild and perfect with a touch of agave nectar and lemon in the afternoon. It was also yummy straight up in the evening as an after dinner drink.

Argentinian neighbors introduced me to Yerba Mate almost 10 years ago and I loved pulling out my mate cup for Black Mate Morning. I don’t miss coffee at all – and I think no one would – when this blend is on hand to kick start the day. It’s an energizing bled of Organic Assam, organic shade grown Yerba Mate, organic Lemon Myrtle, and organic spearmint. It’s a smooth, easy drink that perked me up better than my former afternoon cup of coffee. And after a sleepless night, a cup gave me the energy needed to get breakfast and lunches made for hubby and Teen Boy.

Chai is perfect hot or iced, and the two I tried were sheer perfection. I saved the Organic Yoga Chai for a post-yoga treat and was not disappointed. This classic blend of organic cinnamon, organic Lemon Balm, organic Nettle, organic ginger, organic cloves, organic black pepper, organic cardamom, Safflowers, and Malava flowers made a delicious chai latte, hot or iced. The Organic Orange Mint Chai was a refreshing twist on the sweet, spicy classic chai blend. Natur’el calls this organic blend of Assam black tiger tea, peppermint, orange peel, and ginger warming in winter and a fab summer iced tea. With the SC Lowcountry temperatures in the mid-80s already, I didn’t wait until summer to drink this blend over ice. The whole family enjoyed this one, both sweetened and unsweetened.

Teen Girl and I are huge fans of ginger tea, and Natur’el Tea’s Organic Ginger Pu-erh was sweet, spicy goodness in a cup. The blend of organic Fair Trade Certified™ Yunnan Pu-erh tea, organic ginger, and organic orange peel was delicious with or without sweetener and shone brightly with a touch of unsweetened almond milk. Teen Girl also tried it sweetened over ice and said it was a nice change from the usual sweet iced tea we have on a regular basis.

Each Natur’el Tea blend is available in tins, tin refill sizes, bulk bags, or a sample just right for brewing a pot. Samples are just $2 and tins fall in the $12-15 range. Want to taste them yourself? Natur’el Tea is offering a 20% discount to you for two weeks. Pick what appeals to you and use discount code HappyTea0113 at checkout.

Try a cuppa instead of the usual coffee one morning. You might become a convert like me.
