Good Cook Fruit and Produce Keepers
Our family has the worst time with produce and fruit it seems. Part of the problem is that I have intentions of making them on a particular night and something inevitable happens like plans get changed or the guys decide they don’t want that for dinner. Food bags work okay for some items, like lettuce, but not so great on fruits. It costs me a lot of money and I end up with food waste. What a pain! Now that the Farmers Markets are back in full swing here, I really need to start buying my fruits and veggies there. Again storage is the issue. Thank goodness the folks at Good Cook heard the woes and sent me some of their new product to check out and share with you!
Introducing the Good Cook Fruit and Produce Keepers. This line consists of 7 different keepers. They are:
These Vegetable Keepers are apart of the Good Cook ProFreshionals brand. Store your unused peppers, melons, citrus, tomatoes, bananas, and asparagus in these colorful produce keepers. These keepers work hard to keep them crisp and fresh longer in these specialized, transparent lid containers that prevent the contents from spoiling or smelling. Plus they make it easy to identify in the refrigerator.
I am a watermelon fool and now that summer is here, eating melon is on the top of my agenda and the melon keeper will be put to use on a daily basis. I love the size as it is great for a half of a cantaloupe or my cut up watermelon. Oh, I can even use it for clean radishes, which I love to munch on! The grapefruit keeper is fabulous because I love eating these in the morning so there is usually a half of one left over. Just wrapping them in plastic or foil does not always keep them juicy and fresh.
I am not a huge fan of asparagus, but I love to snack on celery and carrots so what an awesome tool to use for my chopped up veggies. And of course the pepper, lemon and tomato go without saying. I know those will get used often! And lets not forget about the cool Banana Keepers! This is awesome for those that pack a lunch. I hate smooched and bruised bananas so these are perfect for transporting or for little ones that cannot eat a whole one at once.
Could you use something like this in your home? These products are the bomb. I love that they protect the fruit and veggies better than bags because a bag will still allow the product to be bruised and you can find these so much easier in your fridge. I have been using these for over a week and I love that I am not throwing out my produce and fruits! These are inexpensive and will save you money!!
