It doesn’t matter if you are an adult or a kid, I think everyone loves cookies of all sorts! There is such a dramatic difference in a recipes from one person to another, I don’t think there is a cookie that tastes the same way. Here is a recipe that has been in the family for a long time and it is a simple sugar cookie with some added pecans that make these a delicious treat.

Vanilla Pecan Cookies Recipe
1 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
In a large mixing bowl beat the softened butters with an electric mixer for 30 seconds and then stir in the granulated sugar and beat until fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract and water, beat until all ingredients are well combined. Stir in the all-purpose flour and chopped pecans. Shape the dough into 1″ balls and place them onto an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Let cookies sit on baking sheet for 5 minutes. Pour the confectioner’s sugar into a plastic bag. While the cookies are still warm, place 3-4 cookies into the bag at a time and gently shake the bag to coat the cookies in confectioner’s sugar. Place them onto a baking sheet or wire rack to finish cooling.
Recipe makes 2 dozen cookies.

yummy! No matter what season, homemade cookies are a hit and these look perfect for Memorial Day!!!
Thes cookies sound great, I love pecan in cookies and these are similar to the one in the bag..pecan sandies, but I bet they are 100% better, printing it out will try later after store trip. Yummy
Pecan Sandies does sounds about right. Its funny because my hubby does not like nuts IN his foods so you never know how folks react to a recipe. 🙂
I love butter pecan anything. Thanks for the recipe!
I like cookies that have nuts in them, and I am intrigued by the ‘Vanilla’ part of the cookie recipe.
@Sherry took the words right off my fingers – these sound just like Keebler’s Pecan Sandies, which I love (and know are full of things that we shouldn’t be eating). Great to have this recipe. I may even add some vanilla or orange icing.
Cookies! My daughter and I love them! There are so many flavors and varieties. This one sounds very nice and light…not too sweet. Sometimes we like to have nuts in our cookies so this would be nice. Kindof like a Pecan Sandie.
This is a great recipe(I love pecans) and I appreciate that this sugar nut cookie isn’t too sweet.
I like pecans and know I’ll like these cookies. Thanks for the recipe.
