I have been pretty lucky when it comes to hair care. My hair is relatively smooth, for the most part, although there have been several times when the humidity really gave it a run for the money. My best friend, however, has very curly hair and spends at least 30 minutes a day straightening it to control the frizz. Not a fun thing so we thought we would take a few minutes to look up some tips on how to control frizzy hair and share them with you too.
Typical causes for frizzy hair usually have to do with heat and humidity. With the right type of hair, you can find yourself with the frizz after rain showers; working out; a hot humid day. One of the main causes for frizzy hair is that the hair is too dry. It can be overly damaged or dried out from chemicals and alcohol in your shampoos. Make sure to use a quality shampoo and conditioner for dry hair without alcohol in it and check out the Frizz Control Keratin Treatment line to get you going.
To start to control the frizz and get your hair back into shape there are several things you can do. First, try a deep conditioner if your shampoo and conditioner are not doing it alone. Look at how you actually dry your hair. If you use a hair dryer, blow dry from the top of your hair down. You can also use a round brush to dry your hair in sections.
If you are going to be in humid areas or you know that your hair will frizz in certain situations, don’t wash your hair on the day or as often. If you are traveling into areas that will be humid, wash your hair less often, brush your hair to distribute the oils and try flat ironing it too.
There are specific treatments for frizzy hair that you can try that use Keratin. These offer the right shampoos, conditioners, Keratin treatment and deep hydrating masks for unmanageable hair that have been found to work well. If you have that type of hair, check out the at home remedies that do not use harsh cancer causing toxins like formaldehyde, or other poisons. You can control your hair and do it safely too!

I cannot stand my frizzy hair, and when I was a teenager even went through straightening (anti-perm those days) to try to control it. Still hate it, but I have never tried the Keratin products – I will!
I have terrible frizz problems in the summer. It’s always so humid here in PA so I end up pulling it up in a clip the second I step out of my house. I’m know so little about hair products so this is helpful. I will give keratin a try and see what happens!
Thanks. My hair tends to frizz, and humidity is not my friend. I try to keep it short and use an anti-frizz product, but I’m not one to spend much time managing it. I will have to remember about brushing it more to distribute oils instead of washing on some days. I’m getting ready to go to Florida to visit my grand kids and just know there is no hope for it there. Oh well…worth it to see family. 🙂
I didn’t realize that the main cause for frizzy hair is that the hair is too dry. My hair isn’t too bad except on very humid days. I shall try to blow dry from the top of my head down. Thanks for the tips.
