I love oats. I used to hate them back in the day, but now I see them as a versatile, clean, and yummy option for breakfast, snacks, and baking. Making oats a standard part of the daily routine can be repetitive. Apple, berry, or cinnamon additions help change things a bit, but in the end, oats are still oats. Muesli Fusion cereal is a nice way to mix it up. The company takes oats and adds a combination of whole grains, dried nuts, and fruit to take the cereal bowl to a new level. The kind folks at Muesli Fusion sent me a few bags to try and all were hits.
Muesli Fusion’s mission is to bring real food to the table. The New York-based company mixes whole grains, dried fruit, nuts, and seeds to make healthy cereals free of artificial or questionable ingredients. Muesli Fusion contributes to One Percent for the Planet and Pride of New York; organizations that align with the company’s mission. The care in ingredient choice, community, and environment made me smile. I’ve made purchases in the past to support companies whose ideals matched mine with iffy results. I hoped this would not be the case here. I was not disappointed.
When the box arrived, I wasn’t sure which one to try first. Hubby snagged Athlete Fuel as his first and I went with the gluten-free Morning Zen. Athlete Fuel is a protein-filled mix of organic goodness. This combination of oats, rye, raisins, almonds, flaxseeds, cashews, pumpkin seeds gave hubby post-workout energy and became his go-to at night with Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey. Morning Zen has cranberries, raisins, almonds, flax, and pumpkin seeds. This soaked overnight with unsweetened almond milk and topped with fresh berries is my favorite way to enjoy it.
Classic Swiss was Muesli Fusion’s first release. The organic blend of oats, dates, raisins, raisins, flaxseeds, almonds, and rolled rye has just a touch of organic sugar added to the recipe. It was great as cereal and in muffins. Super Muesli is my second favorite. This combination is one I’d throw together myself. The oat, quinoa, cranberry, coconut, almond, hemp seed, and chia seed mix has a touch of sweetness, is high in Omega 3’s, and has protein and fiber. Other available flavors include fruity Berry Burst, antioxidant-packed An Ox, and Harvest Festival.
