Low-Calorie Cocktail Drink Recipes

May 3, 2013 by Classystaff

Ready for Cinco de Mayo? Want to celebrate but are afraid of the Calories?

Cinco de Mayo is fast approaching and what better way to celebrate than with a few festive drinks? But wait! Did you know that one regular Margarita is over 600 calories per serving? But you can still enjoy that Margarita by using Cascade Ice skinny cocktail mixers! That drink will only be about 55 calories! That is what I am talking about!
Low-Calorie Drink Recipes for Cinco de Mayo
I got to sample some of the Cascade Ice Waters and Mixers and so I had to make a Margarita! The one thing I like is that there is no extra garbage in this product. This mix has only 10 calories! No aspartame either, thank goodness! Instead Cascade Ice uses Sucralose but this is not an overly sweet mix. It has lots of citrus for that nice Tang you expect in your Margarita. Now I do not have to feel gulity if I decide to have a cocktail. Sweet!

Cascade Ice has a whole line of Low Cal Mixers for you! The Cosmopolitan is just as tasty. Pina Colada.. I have to try this one for sure! YUMM! Also try the Mojito, Lemon Drop and the Apple Tini. Awesome news for those of us that love a cocktail here and there but always worry about the extra calories. They also carry a line of Sparkling Water and Fruit as well as their Sparkling Waters. Very delicious and a refreshing treat!
Margarita Cocktail Recipe
Below are a few festive drink recipes we recommend mixing up for Cinco de Mayo. Low-cal, but full of flavor!

Margarita Cocktail Recipe

In a mixer, mix the juice of 2 lime wedges with 1 1/2 oz of Tequila. Add 8oz of Cascade Ice Margarita Mixer. Shake or stir and pour contents into your favorite margarita glass with a salted rim. Garnish with a lime wheel for a festive touch!

Skinny Daquiri Recipe

Not a fan of tequila? No problem! Try a delicious Skinny Daiquiri. To create this sweet treat, add 1 1/2 cups of ice and 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries into your blender. Pour in 8oz Cascade Ice Zero-Calorie Wild Berry Sparking Water and your choice of rum. Blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with fresh fruit.

I didn’t realize that they had skinny cocktail mixes. My daughter was recently looking into a different company but they didn’t have products close by. She will be excited to try this. You don’t realize how many calories and sugar grams are in those drinks so it’s great that companies are helping us cut back.

I’d love to try the Skinny Daiquiri. It is wonderful to have a low calorie alternative for one’s drinks that still tastes good.
