Handcrafted Furniture & Gifts from American Country

May 10, 2013 by Shelly

American Country Wood BenchI live right outside the heart of Amish Country here in South Central Pennsylvania, so over the years, I have taken great pride in purchasing handcrafted furniture for my home and as gifts for loved ones. One of the things I love about handcrafted goods is the quality…exceptional quality and the attention that is paid to all of the details…big and small!

Today I get to introduce you all to the company called American Country located in the heart of Indiana’s Amish Country. All of the products made and sold by American Country are handmade with high-quality materials. The workmanship and artistry is impeccable to say the least!

American Country Wood Bench

When you shop at American Country you will find handcrafted solid wood benches, wooden shelves, wooden signs, solid wood cabinets and more! If you love to decorate your home in the Americana, Shabby Chic, Primitive and/or Country style, this store is definitely for you!

I was sent one of their beautiful Shabby Wooden Benches to review for all of you and let me tell you, it arrived beautifully packaged and fully assembled! I just had to take it out of the box, unwrap it and decided where to place it in my home.

The Shabby Bench is made out of solid pine wood and is constructed with screws (not nails or staples, but screws) which adds to it’s sturdiness. The benches are available in several different sizes and finishes. You can go Olde Century Acrylic Paint Color or go with a Primitive or Barnwood finish…the choice is yours! (photo above is of my wooden bench being constructed…wow!).

This wooden bench is heavy-duty and made of solid wood! I love the size of it as I can sit on it along with Princess Gia. Right now I am using the bench as an extra side table in my living room with a plant & photo frame on the top of it. It is super sturdy and you do NOT need to worry about it falling a part at all…NOPE, not at all!

American Country Wood Bench

The finish is really smooth…you can rub your hand across it and not have to worry about getting splinters in your hand or butt for that matter. Smooth as silk! I love the shape, design, weight and look of this bench and it fits in perfectly with my coastal cottage décor. LOVE IT!

You can head on over to American Country and take a look at all of their fabulous products. You can also find American Country on Etsy, American Country on Facebook and you can find American Country on Pinterest.

I wish I had a little bench like this. Things this size always come in so handy, I could put it in the foyer. I have seen similar items in Lancaster County, PA – beautiful, clean, honest lines!

My only problem with this bench is the name. Why call such a beautifully designed bench “The Shabby Bench”? I love the design, how is made and how strudy it is.
