Father’s Day is quickly approaching and if you are like me, you’ve exhausted all of the standard gifts over the years (“World’s Best Dad” mug, anyone?) and are looking for something different and more meaningful. Since I have an 8 year old son, I try to come up with something cute and personal from him for the special dads and grandpas in our lives. Recently I learned about a website called Absolute Inspirations® and ordered a special gift for my son to give his grandfather.
Before I tell you about the great item I ordered, let me share a little bit about Absolute Inspirations. Absolute Inspirations Gift Store offers unique inspirational gifts and ideas for every day, special occasions and sympathy gift giving needs. They specialize in Inspirational Photo Blocks, creative photo gifts, gift plaques and animated plush animals. They offer a complete line of inspirational gifts both religious and non-religious for every age and occasion.
What I chose from the site was one of the Father’s Day Inspirational Photo Blocks®. I browsed through the large variety of choices, which all featured beautiful and interesting images with either a quote or a meaningful poem overlaying the image. The first thing that caught my eye was an image of a golf course with a quote from Arnold Palmer on it, which would be ideal for my stepfather given his passion for golf. But, as I looked a little lower on the page, I found something I thought he would love even more. A block with a moon on it featuring the line “I Love You to the Moon and Back”, which is of course, a line from a well-known book that my stepfather read to my son when he was smaller. What tugged at my heartstrings even more than the message was the ability to personalize the photo block, so we created our own loving message to appear under the text.
Not only can you add your own personalized message like I did, but you can even create your own custom gift plaque/ Photo Block® easily by uploading a photo and letting Absolute Inspirations do the rest. It’s a very simple process and if you enjoy taking photos, this would be a wonderful way to capture and share a special memory. If total customization isn’t your thing, as I mentioned above, there are plenty of interesting and unique Photo Blocks to choose from, so I would peruse the options first because you just might find something that strikes a chord with you like it did for me.
In my opinion, this is a gift that comes from the heart and makes a great keepsake gift not only for Father’s Day, but for other special occasions such as births, weddings and graduations. The block is the perfect size to put on a desk or on a dresser and it even has holes on the back to make hanging it easier. The photo block’s size is 5 x 7, very lightweight and feels well made. I’m sure that this is a gift my stepfather will really enjoy since we don’t live close by. Seeing the daily reminder of his grandson will surely bring a smile to “PePaw’s” face, and for a gift that costs less than $20—I would call that priceless.
