If you have been following our blog this year, You will have read several reviews that I have already done on the wonderful Dorcy Lighting Products and today, we are reviewing the Dorcy 160 Lumens 4D LED Twin Globe Lantern for all of you. This lantern would make the PERFECT Father’s Day Gift, don’t ya think? I do!!!

My Thoughts: This will be the second lantern that I have reviewed from Dorcy and let me tell you, they keep getting better and better! This large lantern can be used for camping, as an outdoor entertaining light or as emergency lighting after a power outage. I really love the large size on this one and it really puts out a lot of bright light! I can use it on the night light setting for just a gentle glowing light or use one of the two brighter light power settings.
I appreciate that it’s waterproof and that it floats because we do a lot of camping, boating and hiking during the summertime months. In addition, we have gotten hit by 2 powerful hurricanes in the past 2 years (Irene and Sandy) and both of them knocked out our power out for days at a time! This lantern is perfect as an emergency lighting source due to it’s large size and I can get hours upon hours of lighting from it on one set of D cell batteries! Fabulous!
I like that I can sit it down on a table, countertop, wall shelf or hang it up via the handy dandy hanging hook. It gives us light 360 degrees around, so it lights up an entire room or outdoor area with ease. In addition, it’s not a blinding white light with glare…bright but not harsh at all.
It only weighs 1.8 lbs. so I consider that to be light-weight. You can pack it into a backpack, into a camping gear pack, travel bag or tuck it inside the back of your car’s trunk for emergency roadside use. Even though it’s a large camping lantern, it really doesn’t take up a lot of space.
Overall, this is one powerful and large lantern that can surely suit all of your camping and emergency lighting needs. I am really impressed with it’s quality, functions and I love that it doesn’t blow through battery power like yesterday’s news. One set of batteries gives you hours upon hours of light! Yay!
