Using Lanyards to Market Your Home Business
I have been working from home on a full time basis since 1993 and while I love my job, it can be stressful and time-consuming at times. As a home business owner, I am always looking for creative advertising and marketing ideas to utlize for my business promotional needs.
Next month I will be heading to Baltimore Maryland for a home business expo and I am thinking about investing in a case of custom printed lanyards. I have used these custom printed promotional tools in the past and they have always worked well for me.
Right now I am looking at having my business information printed onto a woven break-away lanyard and passing them out to those who I come into contact with at the business expo. I would get my business name, mini logo and web site address printed onto each one and perhaps…upgrade to the woven style which seem to be a much nicer quality than the ones I used in the past.
What I like about this promotional marketing tool is that lanyards are a practical item to give away…almost everyone can use one. Next, I think they are relatively affordable at about .60 cents to .82 cents a piece. Not only that, it’s a business deduction that I can write off for my home business come tax time.
My husband purchased a case of them just last month and his employees wear them while at the workplace to hold their employee identification cards. He is also going to use them as giveaway promos at the next residential housing expo that he attends in June of this year.
Lanyards are great to give to employees as functional workplace gifts, great to give to students to hold their school ID’s and an affordable way to “brand” and “market” your business at various trade shows, expos and business networking events.
In my opinions, lanyards are more practical to give away than refrigerator magnets, erasers, pens, pencils and mini note pads. I think people would get more use out of them and they would less likely sit in a drawer and collect dust. Thoughts?
