Thinking About Buying a New Chevy Equinox

April 3, 2013 by Shelly

Hubby and I travel a lot and at times…we can be hard on our cars. Now that we paid off our Chevy Monte Carlo, we are thinking about getting a new 2013 Chevy Equinox.

With that said, we have been checking out the new cars at Bill Stasek Chevy online and this coming weekend, we are going to hit our own local auto dealer and take one out for a test drive.

What we like about this particular car is that it has great gas mileage and is considered to be a crossover type of vehicle. While it’s compact, it does have a lot of leg room and trunk room!

In addition, it comes standard with 6 air bags, comfortable seating for 5 people, has a consumer rating of 7.9 out of 10, has a v6 engine, it can tow up to 3500 lbs. (great for towing our slide-out camper), has a premium Pioneer Sound System, has Bluetooth Wireless Technology built-in, standard USB port to charge our MP3 player, Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi and so much more! This car is loaded!

Another thing we like is that it comes with 6 months of OnStar to help us feel more secure while out on the road. We have OnStar in our Monte Carlo and love having that feature as a “peace of mind” option.

I was reading a lot of the online consumer reviews on this vehicle and it seems that almost everyone has a lot of positive things to say about it. My brother has a 2012 model and he loves his…especially since he is an outdoors-men and is always fishing, hunting and camping.

What is really impressive about the Chevy Equinox is that you can buy one for around $24,000 and that is well within the price range of what we want to spend. Heck, I would have enough left-over in my budget to add on another vacation for later this year! Yay!

I would love to know if any of our readers have a Chevy Equinox and if so, do you like it, hate it or LOVE it? I would love to hear what you have to say about it if you currently own one. Please leave your comments below in our blog’s comment form. Thanks!

It seems from the reviews I have seen that this is an excellent car for comfort and towing. Personally I don’t always feel comfortable ina bigger car, but this one might be the exception. The OnStar feature is a great one and so is the price.

I have a 2012 Equinox. I enjoy the car. My father loves the car.
I had two Honda Cr-Vs previous and I loved them. The seats are comfortable and the leg room is good. I do not have children but I am always toting someone around so the room is necessary. I would put it on the spectrum of a larger smaller SUV.(I don’t think that makes too much sense but it is about 8 inches longer than the CR-V) and it took some time for me to get used to. I have enjoyed driving SUV’s for the last 17 yrs or so and would not go back to a sedan. This is not a big SUV it is just the right size (and it fits in my garage). I enjoyed the ONStar for the length of time I had it. I would probably go back and re up if I did not have another emergency serve already.
