Two years ago my husband and I were in a terrible car accident and had to hire an auto accident lawyer to handle our case. Here is what happened to us on that very terrible day.
We were going down the interest and it was bumper to bumper traffic. We were only going about 20 mph due to all of the congestion. Well, a tractor trailer got behind us and was riding our ass and kept honking his horn to get us to either move or speed up.
Well, we couldn’t do either as it was bumper to bumper traffic and they were all moving slow due to the heavy congestion going up through the valley in Dauphin.
Anyway, after about 15 minutes of the driver being aggressive, he slammed into the rear-end of our car and pushed us into an embankment! Oh my gosh…I was pissed beyond belief! Before we even got out of the car, I called 911 and had them dispatch some officers to the scene.
My hubby had minor injuries but I had moderate injuries since I had just gotten out of the hospital and had an IV mediport in my left upper chest. The impact of the air bag and the impact of his big-rig slamming into our back-end caused my IV to rupture and caused me to have severe whiplash. Hubby had a few scrapes on his face and arms…along with head, neck and back pain.
Long story short…we both had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance and our car had to be towed from the scene. We had about $7,000 in car damage from the impact, so they eventually totaled our car. On top of that, we had around $9,000 in leftover medical bills as I needed surgery to replace the ruptured IV port.
The idiot truck driver gave the police a fake driver’s license, fake name and address and other things. They released him immediately as he had minor damage and he drove off.
We had to hire an auto accident lawyer to track down this truck driver and help us get some money to pay off the bills this idiot caused us. It took us about 6 months from start to finish…but we did get an out of court settlement and the truck driver got 2 years of jail time for giving fake information at the scene of an accident.

Luckily not although I am contemplating a personal injurry lawyer . Hubby was in an auto accident years ago who’s driver did much the same only the driver was never found- he was an undocumentedd illegal alien and the company got fined and thats about it. (hubby was in the military at the time)
I am always surprised how long it takes to resolve things like this and am sorry you had to go through it.
