For those of you who read our blog regularly, you have read posts in the past that I have written about some of my chronic health problems. Well, I decided to make some improvements in my health and have been looking at some natural treatments.
I was looking around online and found and I am hoping to find a wellness establishment like that one…here in my own home state of Pennsylvania.
A friend of mine goes to a center like that and told me that she gets great relief from her chronic pain by getting acupuncture, full body massages, reflexology, aromatherapy and a few other things. My mother suffers with fibromyalgia and goes to a wellness clinic near her home too.
I think getting massages on a regular basis would help with some of my bone, joint and muscle pain. In addition, I heard that acupuncture and reflexology are great for that too. I have never tried acupuncture before and I am a little nervous about that. Does anyone know if that hurts at all?
Last month I made some BIG changes to my diet and incorporated in a lot of organic fruits and vegetables. I reduced my sodium, cholesterol and fat by going with lower carb foods. Instead of buying bottled juice, I now make homemade juice via my juicer for my family to drink.
In just one month, hubby has dropped 11 lbs. and I have dropped 5 lbs. I contribute a lot of that to the dietary changes that I have made. In addition, I do feel like I have a little more energy now than what I did before I made the changes.
Later this month I am getting a total hip replacement and once I heal & recover from that, I am going to join a walking group and a swim aerobics class to see if I can improve my stamina and physical activity.
I would like to know what kind of “natural” things have you implemented to help improve your health? What kind of dietary changes have you made? Do any of you see a chiropractor or get acupuncture done? If so, do they help?

I don’t know if we are allowed to make a second comment on the same post, but I’m running out of non-giveaway posts! I like the center’s mottos: Wellnes from within and Find Your Balance. I found that making sure that I started the day with a good breakfast and relaxation helped me alot – both mentally and physically (I had skipped breakfast for many years and when I started eating it I actually lost almost 10 pounds without trying.)
Whatever changes you make the imortant thing is to continue them. I have heard good things about massage, meditation and acupuncture, not to forget a regular exercise program of some kind. The food changes you made area good start. Good luck.
I wish there were one of these Centers near me. I’m going to look into it though. Since I have chronic pain with my back, joints and leg cramping every night it may just make it more tolerable. I know a few people who have benefited from Reflexology and deep massage. I only know one person who ad Acupuncture and said it was painless an helped her quite a bit. Thanks for the post.I’m definitely going to look for a Center for Symmetry near me.

Diet changes are huge. I have tried to add more fruits and vegetables and eat fish more often. My daughter is really trying to incorporate those things into our dinners. I know that reflexology, meditation, and acupuncture are great if you can maintain them. Even simple home breathing and stretching exercises work wonders for increasing energy and circulation.
