DJS in New York City for Daughter’s Upcoming Wedding

About 6 weeks ago my 27 year old daughter finally got engaged to her long time boyfriend of 7 years…the Big E. She had been waiting for him to propose to her for a very long time and she told me yesterday, that it was worth the wait.

The Big E is from New York City and would like to have the wedding ceremony and reception held in The Big Apple! They set their wedding date for late September, reserved a church for the ceremony and booked a reception hall. Now it’s time to find a great DJ in New York City for the after-ceremony party!

I got online and found a few that my daughter and her fiance are interested in and they are going to drive up to the city next weekend and conduct some interviews. Since we live in Pennsylvania, I have advised them to go up there and personally check out the DJS that they are interested in hiring.

I sat down with Jenelle last night and handed her an old list of songs that I saved from my own wedding reception 27 years ago. We went through my list and she picked out about 8 songs from the list that she wants at her reception. In addition, my first dance song is now going to be her first dance song too! I think that is pretty cool!

If all of this goes well, hopefully we will have a party DJ in New York City hired within 2 weeks for their big day. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t cost me a royal fortune!

Did any of you have someone spinning the music at your wedding? If so, approximately how much did it cost you? Was it worth the expense and did your guests have a good time at the wedding reception?
