Over the last few weeks, I have been reviewing a second skin care product from ermerginC. I’ve been using the Delgazing Cleanser as part of my daily routine (in combination with the emerginC lavender toner I previously reviewed) and I’ve been extremely pleased with the result. Before I give you the specifics on my experience with this product, let me remind you about the company that produces these incredible products.
emerginC offers a full line of active, result-oriented products containing a wide variety of pure, potent botanicals and fruit acids, as well as cutting edge medical and cosmeceutical-grade ingredients from all over the world. All of the emerginC products are paraben-free, as well as free of artificial colors and fragrances. In addition, the company does not test on animals or use animal ingredients. Their line includes a wide variety of products for your face, eyes and body, and they even have products for men.
The emerginC Deglazing Cleanser is a soap-free, anti-bacterial cleanser that removes excess oil and improves complexion problems as well as breakouts. It does look a little different than most cleansers I’ve used in the past as most of them have either been clear or white (like you would expect from a soap), but this one is darker in color and reminds me of the color of a light clay mask. This cleanser is especially made for those of us with oily/adult problem skin, which is a category I have fallen into in the past and re-visit from time to time. As I’ve gotten older, I occasionally get break outs and notice smaller patches of adult acne around my hairline and forehead (always a joy). I had used a three-step process geared at correcting this problem, but had stopped using it after my skin started to improve, and was actually becoming way too dry.
I was a little apprehensive about this cleanser because I thought it would dry out my skin as well and I didn’t want to look like a lizard lady. Honestly, who does? I didn’t experience that over-drying at all. Not one bit. I believe it is the result of the Deglazing Cleanser being soap-free and could also be attributed to the active ingredients in the cleanser—balsam peru and usinic acid. I have been using it every evening and most mornings and my skin feels squeaky clean, fresh and soft. I’ve even skipped my heavier night moisturizer a few times and my skin is still perfectly normal. Not oily, not dry, but perfectly balanced. It also doesn’t stain my washcloths, which some of the “acne-prone skin” products do. If you’ve used them, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Since using this product, my little breakout areas have cleared up nicely and my skin feels fantastic. This product costs around $35 and comes in a fairly large bottle (8.1 fl. ounces). You don’t need to use more than a few dabs to cleanse each day, so I would expect it to last for a month or two.
My experience with this product has been nothing but positive. I’m all for promoting healthy habits and using the right skincare products is definitely something we should all take the time to explore. If your skin is like mine and needs a little TLC from time to time, this may be just the right the product for you.

I like the way this cleanser is working on you because I don’t like that scaly feeling one gets from some cleansers. Another plus is that it doesn’t stain the washcloth, so I may give this a try.
