From Sapphires to Snake Bracelets: The Hottest Jewelry for Spring
When we think of fashion trends usually our minds go straight to what was on the runway, or what the up and coming clothes will be. But fashion is more than just the shirts and pants, and more than just shoes and dresses. No outfit is complete without accessories. In fact, some accessories are so amazing they can be the most important thing you wear. So, just as it is important to keep up with the latest clothing fashion, you want to know what is up with jewelry too.
Precious Snakes
Snake jewelry is not implying that you would buy something covered in snake skin, or that it is made to look like a reptile with scales or snake like markings. It does however refer to the shape of a snake and this is particularly popular in bracelets. Bulgari has a Serpenti bracelet in pink gold with rubelite and diamonds for around $54,000. If Bulgari is beyond your budget you can try places like Palm Beach Jewelry where they offer a champagne-colored and black crystal gold tone metal snake bangle bracelet for around $31.99.
Colors that Wow
The color of the jewelry can also be important. Pantone.com reveals some of the hot color trends for spring and among them are:
· Tangerine.
· Margarita.
· Cabaret.
· Driftwood.
· Starfish.
· Bellflower.
· Cockatoo.
· Lilac.
You can find these colors in jewelry, like the pink sapphire engagement rings. In fact, jewelry.about.com states that an “emerald cut pink sapphire ring is a possible choice for anyone who loves vintage looking jewelry”. These gems were once considered very rare, but since the late 1990’s when there were deposits found in Madagascar you can afford to own one of these beautiful stones yourself.
Make a Statement
Eonline.com fashion writer Rose Curiel notes “We saw a few unusual jewelry trends pop up at the 2013 Oscars, but statement earrings continued to reign as the must-have award show staple”. Statement earrings are great whether you are wearing casual jeans and a t-shirt, or if you’re headed to work, and even a fancy night out on the town. A few fun pairs you might try:
· Dori Csengeri- heavy deco-style inspiration with oversized pink beads for about $140.
· J. Crew Cab Fan Crystal and Bead earrings with “a bit of old Hollywood charm” for $75.
· Kenneth Jay Lane earrings- bold coral drops and “delicate” aqua beading for $36.99.
Going Designer
Top names and designer jewelry never goes out of style, and this spring is no different. Zoe Isabella Kravitz has an in-demand jewelry line. Elle.com recently revealed that she has a new line that mixes Caribbean and Native American vibes with “sparkling Swarovski Elements”. Alex Williams reported on NYTimes.com that vintage Rolex watches are also making an appearance. And the beauty of this new trend is that you can actually purchase used Rolex watches for a fraction of the price, and with older styles being popular this can be an affordable designer trend anyone can enjoy.
Being trending and fashionable can be a lot fun for men or women. And you don’t have to have the latest in clothes, or even big name brands to be up-to-date. Just find the fun, affordable style trend that works for you and enjoy!
Some of these colors are strange because they usually represent an item or animal that is multi-colored. I only follow a trend if I like how it looks on me. The snake shape is not my favorite for bracelets. We shall have to wait to see what is designed
Not sure what some of those colors are but I hope sapphire plays a big part in the hot colors. I love sapphires. Also, I think “hot” is a good word to describe the colors. They sound lively and with pop. Besides jewelry I think we will also see these colors in light scarves and hair accessories. I’ve noticed a lot of brightly colored scarves in tangerine and poppy colors. Driftwood threw me for a moment. At first, it didn’t seem to fit with the others but it will be interesting to see what jewelry designers have in store for us.
