Spring and Summer are my 2 favorite seasons of the year, but one thing I don’t like about those two seasons is…Ants! Seriously, I freak out and get a little nuts when I spot an ant in or around my home! I just despise those little buggers and if I can prevent them or get rid of them quickly, I am all for that!
Recently I was sent a new product called Combat Ant & Roach Killing Bait Strips and I was eager to get those strips up inside my home. Hubby just placed mulch around the house last week and when you mulch…ants come! ewww!
Before I get started with my review of the product, here is some additional information about it.
The new Combat Ant & Roach Killing Bait Strips attack the source and prevent pests from returning. The bait strips contain the same killing power that is found in Combat Gels and the new strips are discreet and practically not seen, unless you are looking specifically for them.
The unique gel bait formula contains food & water that roaches and ants seek, combined with Fipronil, a fast acting insecticide that begins killing within hours once the insect has come into contact with the bait. Unlike spray insecticides that just kill the bugs you spray & see, Combat Killing Bait Strips are designed to kill the nest and colony that are beyond your reach, attacking the source of the pest problem.
Combat Killing Bait Strips are available in 5 count Ant and 10 count Roach varieties and can be found at major retailers including Walmart, Home Depot, Target, Family Dollar, Dollar General and Publix.
My Thoughts: As I previously stated…I hate ants….I mean, I really HATE ants! I had hubby read the instructions on the package and immediately tack up 3 of the strips in our Florida Sun Room and 2 of them in our kitchen. I wanted my ant problem GONE…before it gets out of hand.
On day one and two, I did see a few ants near the bait strips. One day three, four and five, I saw none. I thought…geesh, they quit working already. However, I then remembered that the ants eat the bait and go back to their nest to infect the rest with the pesticide. Ding, Ding, Ding….that is why I didn’t see anymore ants because those few soldier ants took the bait back and wiped out the nest! Yay!!!
It has been a full week now and guess what? I haven’t seen any more ants since the second day! I am really excited about that! In addition, those who visit your home will never see the discreet bait strips that you have placed around your home.
Overall, I am digging these new Combat Ant Killing Bait Strips and if those ants have the “balls” to return…I will get more of the bait strips and kick them outta here! Fabulous product!

My daughter has such an ant problem every year and these may just be the product for her. I like how neat and compact the strips are. Thanks for the review. I’ll be passing this info on to my daughter.

I need these strips. I love that they are so discreet looking and seem to work so well. I have always liked Combat products.
How are these around pets? I have a cat and wouldn’t want her to get into this.
oh i need these!!!! it finally warmed up and the ants are marching in …and not the cute children song lol
I will have to look into these if I start seeing anymore ants. I got really freaked out when a warm end of winter brought ants into our kitchen. I used a bait trap BUT I think I sprayed the ant killer too close so I think that just negated that action. I havent seen any lately, but like these so much because you can actually see what you are using.
I need these! I absolutely hate ants!! They just make me feel like my house is dirty. I am going to pick some of these up. I really like that it doesn’t have a chemical smell. Thanks!!
