Today I would like to talk to all of you about your gift shopping habits and I would like to know if you are a last minute gift shopper or do you shop in advance for the gifts that you need?
Personally, I shop ahead as I really like to find unique things to give as gifts. I am also one of those people who really think “outside the box” when it comes to the gifts that I give. I want the gifts that I give to be practical gifts, something they will use….but also something that they will cherish and think of me whenever they see or use the gift that I gave to them.
My husband on the other hand is a “last minute” gift shopper and when he selects gifts, they are usually not good ones! I am beginning to think that might mostly be a “man thing” or something! LOL
I would love to know what is the best gift you have ever given to someone? What is the best gift you have ever received?
For me personally…I would have to say the BEST gift I ever got was my 3 ct. diamond ring that hubby got for me. With that said…he is terrible at selecting gifts for me but got help from my mother when selecting my engagement ring so…it was perfect for me.
The best gift I have ever given was an Amish handmade baby quilt that I gave to my daughter when she was pregnant. It cost me a fortune but it’s beautiful! Once Princess was born, I took it back and the Amish lady embroidered the Princess’ name and birth date on it for me. Both Jenelle and princess treasure that baby quilt.
I am some of both. My daughter really helps me buy throughout the year so I don’t have as much to buy when the occasion comes up. We get deals this way but sometimes end up buying more than we thought. We do the same things with cards. I have event cards to get me through June for my family and friends and then some just for anything.
I usually shop ahead of time in order to find items I like or thingsI know the person wants on sale. Sometimes I try to find something unusual but I don’t know if it will always be appreciatd, so I have to be careful about that.The gift my husband bought me that surprised me the most was he found a chic 2 piece outfit for me and it fit!
I am usually ahead of the game.I try to buy gifts when I find them on sale and save them in a closet so I always have something stashed away so I do not have to pay full prize.
Sometimes, I am really good at getting something really early, but most of the time I am a last-minute shopper. The best gift I’ve ever received was my dog Oz, who passed away last year. The best gift I ever gave someone was probably a flatscreen TV for Christmas to my sweetie because it was a complete surprise. It was incredibly hard to hide.
