Viewing and Storing Old VHS Video Tapes

Viewing and Storing Old VHS Video TapesHow many of you still watch VHS video cassette tapes? Do you watch pre-purchased movies or things you personally recorded on them? How do you store all of your VHS tapes?

A few years ago we cleaned out ALL of our VHS tapes and donated them to a second-hand store. A lot of these tapes just didn’t hold up well over time. The picture at times was fuzzy, tapes were breaking, the VCR machines were breaking and all sorts of things. Don’t get me wrong, VHS had it’s time and place in our history but I’m so glad that more modern technology has come along.

For example…we boxed up 748 VHS tapes that we donated. We got all of that precious space back in our home! We donated all 3 VCRS because they were no longer needed. We watch our movies on TV or via DVD. More space freed up!

We had a few personal VHS tapes of family events and things that we had transferred (burned) onto DVDs so we still have those precious memories. It’s easy to transfer your content from VHS to DVD so don’t be afraid to do it. Don’t have time? Don’t worry, you can hire different companies to do it for you!

If you are looking to store some of these items and you don’t need to watch them frequently you can buy under-the-bed storage totes and store them all underneath the bed. That’s valuable storage space, so use it!
