My one neighbor runs a business out of his home and a pretty successful business at that! Well, for the past few days I have been watching him putting up new business lawn signs in his front yard and I have to admit, I am pretty impressed!
Mr. Dan has been running his real estate business out of his home for the past 10 years. He actually had a 3-room addition added to his home last summer to accommodate the growth of his business. My husband has been helping him with some of the electrical and plumbing work in the new addition.
The three new signs that he placed in his front yard are really catchy looking and grab your attention! The colors are very bright and just draw your eyes in. Not only that, the graphics and wordage on his new signs are pretty cool too! Everyone in our neighborhood has been stopping and looking at the new signs, so I guess this new advertising method is a complete success for him.
Anyway, all of this has really given me some food for thought. I run two successful businesses out of my home and I had never thought about adding some cool signage to my front yard. I don’t want big signs like what Mr. Dan got…but I am seriously thinking about a simple, custom-made sign with just my business name, slogan and my business phone number printed on it.
Our neighborhood road gets a lot of traffic during the daytime hours and perhaps, I could snag myself a few new local clients by advertising my business in this manner. I am really surprised at how affordable these types of signs are!
Matter of fact, maybe I will order and purchase two signs…one advertising my ghostwriting and social media management business, and one for our Two Classy Chics blog! ha!
I would love to know if any of you run businesses out of your home and if so, do you have any type of signage in your yard that advertises your business on it? If so, do you feel it was worth the investment? Thoughts?
I do not run a business out of my home. However, I can see the efficacy of having a professional lawn sign. Anyone driving by would look at it and it would be a good way to increase business.
