Saffron Road All Natural World Cuisine Food

Even though I have lived overseas in the Far East, I am pretty particular as far as the cultural foods that I eat. I am not fond of curry and usually shy away from curry based foods, mainly because too many people go over board with the spice. My husband, however, loves it and he is so much better at trying new and different foods from cultures all over the world. When I got the opportunity to review some items from a company that creates all natural foods with emphasis in cultural specialties, well, I had every intention of having my hubby eat it for the review. LOL

Chicken Tikka Masala: Tender, boneless, all-natural white meat chicken traditionally baked with freshly-ground Tandoori spices in yogurt and tomato sauce, served over Basmati rice.

So for lunch the other day, we fired up the microwave and tried out the meals. I have heard a lot about Tikka Masala and I knew that it was very tasty so that one I tried quickly. The rice came out amazing. It is so light and then when I blended it with the Tikka Marsala, they combined into a very nice taste. The flavor combination on this was good. It had a bit of heat to it at the back end but nothing that was over the top or unpleasant. I was quick surprised. My hubby, having eaten it many times before, deemed it pretty good too, saying it was not bad for a frozen meal. So that must be good.

We also prepared the Chana Saag frozen entree. This one I was nervous about as I had never heard of it before. It is a vegetarian dish with Indian spices served with cumin flavor rice. Again the rice was awesome. I am not sure how they bang out rice so tasty in a frozen food, but that was my favorite part. I really did not care for the main dish although the flavor was good. I think it was more texture. With it being a vegetarian dish, I needed some texture to it. Hubby deemed it okay.

We also tried the Crunchy Chickpeas as a side to our meal and I really enjoyed snacking on them. They come in varying degrees of heat and I stayed with the least hot one, the Falafel flavor. They are a great source of protein and are nice a crunchy. A fun snack. They also come in Bombay Spice and Wasabi flavors.
