How many of you have ever traveled down to the Bahamas? If you have, which island did you visit and did you enjoy your trip?
Well guess what? My husband surprised me last night and told me that he is taking me down to the Bahamas for my 46th Birthday come June! Oh my gosh, I was in total shock as I have been bugging him a lot lately to take a trip.
About 10 years ago we took a trip to the Bahamas to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we haven’t been back since. We really love that tropical destination and lately, I have been really depressed about this icky and cold Pennsylvania weather.
This morning I was online and looking for some accommodations and found Abaco Vacation Rentals. We really like what we read on their web site and perhaps we will book with them, since they have reasonably priced beach houses for rent! Yay!
I am really excited because now we have 6 vacations planned for this year with our first one coming up later next month! We will be hitting South Carolina in April, our Beach condo in June and September, the Poconos in July and now the Bahamas in August! It’s going to be a busy summer for us!
Anyway, I would like to know if any of you have ever visited the Bahamas and if so, what kind of things did you see and do? Got any recommendations for us?
It sounds like you are already feeling more cheerful just thingking about all the vacations that are upcoming. I have never been to the Bahamas, but I’d love to go some day.
Thanks ladies! I am super excited about it. It’s a Birthday reward and a surgery reward. He is using the trip to motivate me to do well with the hip replacement surgery coming up.

I too have only been to the Bahamas on the stop on a cruise. We have always gotten day passes to one of the hotels to enjoy the beach and relax.

Wow! Sounds like a wonderful year you have to look forward to. You need it! Enjoy it all and soak up the sun. My husband and I did a weekend Nassau cruise years ago, and I would love to go back. I would like to take a longer cruise to Hawaii or the Caribbean. Right now, the vacation I have is to go to Florida for my grandson’s birthday, and I am very excited about it.
