Note to Cheaters + Winners for March 5th

Good Morning Everyone!!! Happy Tuesday! We hope your week is off to a great start! We are expecting a major snow storm to move in late tonight, snow all day on Wednesday and then get outta town early on Thursday….booooo! Seriously….BOOOOOOO!!!! My Spring flowers have sprouted up and this is NOT good!

Note to Cheaters: It seems like every few weeks I am moaning & groaning about this and today, I am really FIRED UP about the cheaters!!! Ever since we went to electronic forms for the giveaway entries, cheaters have been “flocking” to our blog. Seriously, I am tired of it and I am tired of being Miss Nice Girl about it. Cheaters will NEVER, EVER win on this blog! Chris and I make a point (every day) to double check entries. If you do NOT complete the mandatory entry (which is usually visiting the sponsor’s site & coming back to tell us what your favorite product is)….well…we will disqualify ALL of your entries. Mandatory means just that…..YOU MUST DO THAT ENTRY and DO IT CORRECTLY!!!

About 1/2 of the cheaters we are catching…don’t do the mandatory entry at all. They just click submit and move onto the bonus entries. The other half of the cheaters will put in silly things like:

* I want to win!
* Hey, that’s cool…my dog would like that!
* Wow, I had one as a kid and would like another one!
* and many other NONSENSE responses!

You know…it’s time consuming running this blog and it’s time consuming dumping out cheater entries. With that said, we are absolutely DETERMINED to not let cheaters win. If you are cheating, we do KNOW about it and we will DELETE your entries & disqualify you. We usually dump cheater entries either as they come in (if we catch them) and/or when we go to select the winners. It is really easy to spot a cheater!

To all of the cheaters out there….If you think you will win on this blog by cheating, think again! Quit wasting OUR time and MOVE ON! While you might get away with your cheating on another blog, you will NEVER get away with it here. That is the bottom line.

We had a few new giveaways end late last night so we do have new winners to announce this morning. We used Random.org to select the winner once we verified all entries into the giveaway. We will email the winner and they will have 48 hours to respond to that email to claim their prize. Once 48 hours have passed, we reserve the right to select a new winner.

Winner for the Innovia Paper Towel Dispenser is…  bakergurl02

Winners for the Good Cooks Prize Pack are…. Natalie N., Heather S. and Brittney H.

Congrats to all 4 of our winners this morning! Emails will be coming your way shortly. Have a great day everyone and thanks for letting me moan & groan again! hahaha!

It’s very irritating as someone who checks and double checks entries (I check every time to make sure Im following in whatever way, g+, pinterest, you know, all those) when cheaters win. I’m not saying I’ve never made a mistake (thought I was following via email, and turned out I wasn’t…get over 600 emails a day) but I do so try to follow the rules. I think it’s only fair. Sorry you have to deal with this so often:(

I have noticed the same thing. I go to the sponsor’s site & look around & do the entries right. It’s not fair to those of us who put in the effort.

  3. I am glad you keep it fare. If people cheat on a blog giveaway can you imagine what they do in their lives everyday?

Seriously glad to know that I am not the only spoil sport. I delete cheaters too and am honestly so over it! It’s usually a handful of the same peeps for me, one day I just may start deleting their entries all together, sure would save me some time. Verification would go so much more quickly!

  5. I hear you about the cheating thing. I use Rafflecopter for everything and, like you, I get a bunch of people who just click “Enter” and then leave a stupid comment like, “Would love to win!” or “This looks great!” or “I really need this!”

Ya know, cut me a flippin’ break. You’re getting a chance to get something FOR FREE, and it’s probably something valued at $25 and up, maybe even hundreds of dollars. I mean, thanks for visiting/entering, but if you’re nothing but a cheater and you can’t even follow the simplest of rules, then take a hike! I don’t need that kind of visit, and my sponsor, who very generously is offering one of my readers a free gift, surely doesn’t need this. And it’s simply not fair, all the way around, including to the other people who care enough to follow the rules.

Wow, can you tell that this is a sore spot for me? LOL.

    • Kristin,

It’s a very sore spot for us too! From what we have learned, these cheaters do it because they get away with it! Most blog owners don’t take the time out to verify the entries. So, these cheaters are winning on hundreds of blogs and get away with it. So, they think they can come to our blogs and get away with it too. NOT HAPPENING HERE!

I am thinking about putting together a post & asking other bloggers to join in…we all need to band together, out the cheaters and put a clamp down on it. Like I said, unless bloggers band together in massive numbers to out them and to make it known that we are watching and disqualifying folks, it will continue.

I enter giveaways myself and it saddens me when I and others lose out on a prize and a well known cheater is selected as the winner because the blog owner won’t take a few minutes out of his/her day to verify entries. Shameful if you ask me as it’s totally unfair to the readers who do legitimately enter the giveaway.

I am sorry you have the issue but I want to say thank you for picking up on it.
