Chicken Chow Mein Recipe

March 9, 2013 by Shelly

Looking for something different to make for dinner tonight? How about this cheater recipe for some Chicken Chow Mein! You can whip it up in no time and serve it over cooked noodles or cooked rice. If you have any left-overs you can refrigerate them but we do NOT recommend freezing them. If you like it more spicier, add some additional soy sauce or a few drops of hot sauce to the mixture as it is cooking.

Chicken Chow Mein Recipe

2 cups celery
2 cups onions, sliced
1 can Chinese vegetables
1 can bean sprouts
6 cups cooked chicken, cubed
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
soy sauce
cornstarch

Cook celery and onions in water with 4 tbsp. soy sauce and 2 tbsp. granulated sugar until the celery is done. Add the Chinese vegetables and bean sprouts, simmer for 3 minutes. Add in the chicken and bring mixture to a boil.

Thicken the mixture with cornstarch until desired thickness is achieved. Season to taste with additional soy sauce. Serve over cooked noodles or rice.

I too would like to know how much water since that part of the recipe is missing. I’d like to try this to see how well it works.
