A few weeks ago, the family and I took off for a lovely day in San Francisco. We had a good time driving around, getting lost a bit and seeing things we had not seen in many years. I lived in the bay area for 20+ years and enjoyed visiting the city often and for a time I worked there too. But it has been several years since we had taken the time to hang out.
One of the areas that I love is the marina district and the gorgeous homes in that section of the city. Nestled a beautiful park setting in an amazing neighborhood is the stunning Palace of Fine Arts. This was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition for the display of works of art. It is the only structure from the exposition remaining and it has been renovated and is used for events mainly today. It is in a gorgeous setting and is quite amazing to see. Here is a beautiful shot with it lit up at dusk. Enjoy!

This is a pretty structure! I never got to see it when I was last in San Francisco! I bet it’s a nice place to go for an event! Thanks for sharing!
Very beautiful.
This is a gorgeous place to see with lights on. I have not been to S.F. for about 4 years. The only time I got to see this place was either during the day or in movies. It is a popular setting used in films.
I haven’t been to San Francisco since I was 13 and I don’t think I ever saw this structure – certainly not at night. The photo is beautiful. I wish I could travel there soon.
Great picture. I didn’t get to see this when I visited the city 30 years ago.
