Last Friday the east coast braced for another nasty winter storm and this time around…his name was NEMO. While New England got the blizzard Nemo here in Pennsylvania we got just the winter storm Nemo. (thank goodness as I certainly couldn’t handle a blizzard right now).
Overall, we got about 1/2″ of ice and about 3″ of snow out of Mr. Nemo and that was hard enough to deal with. Once it was done snowing, we had almost 24 hours of 20 to 35 mph winds. Geesh! Those winds did more damage than the snowfall we got out of it.
We did wake up to find our row of mailboxes damaged again…sigh! I think we all need to move them back from the road as this is happening way too much!
Anyway, enjoy the one and only photo I got of the storm. I was too sick to go outdoors and explore but I did manage to get one photo out my front door. Brrr, I will just stay inside and keep warm!
Keeping my fingers crossed that SPRING will be here sooner, than later!

We had a ton of snow in the Midwest a week before Nemo- but I have to agree with the rest ice is worse!
I completely agree with Jo-Ann. Up here in the sierra foothills, the black ice is the worst. It’s so dangerous and people don’t always take the necessary precautions when driving on it. I would much rather have just the snow.
Ice is always worse than snow – much more dangerous and harder to clear. We had over 20″ of snow and under all of that there was some ice!!. At least it warmed up for the 2 – 3 days after it. We may have more snow tonight into tomorrow.
Ice…. is not fun with snow on top of that. Slip and slide. I thought not being able to get out of my house from Friday – Sunday was bad. We got 30/32 inches of snow and we lost power for a day.
I think we’ve had one ice storm in the 50 years I’ve lived in
Colorado. Got them when I lived in Omaha and Texas. Rather have snow.
That’s a big gust of wind you’ve captured!
