Can someone please tell me why some people feel the need to hoard toilet paper? I’m not talking about stocking up on a few packs of TP so that your family has it on hand or picking up a few packs when a major storm is about to come in. What I’m specifically talking about is when some people have dozens and dozens of multi-packs stored in their home for a rainy day!!!
One of my neighbors is one of those type of people! In her basement she probably has 20-30 packs of toilet tissue with 6-8 rolls in each pack! She has at least 15 rolls (if not more) of paper towels, 15 or so boxes of facial tissues, at least a dozen large bottles of liquid laundry detergent and I could go on and on and on about her stockpile and hoarding!
I can understand those who live in rural areas stock up on supplies. I can understand people picking up some supplies when a major storm is coming in. I’m aware that some people are into PREPPING for the end of the world and will stock up on things that they feel they’ll need (within reason). But…I don’t understand those who go way overboard on stocking up on things!!! My neighbor’s basement is it’s very own grocery store!!! Seriously, I could shop from it!
Do I stock up on some things for my family? Yes, I do. I do it within reason! I don’t hoard nor take more than what my family would need for 1-2 months at a time. I consider that to be reasonable. I consider those who take MORE THAN THEY NEED and leaving store shelves bare to be unreasonable in their behavior. Just saying!
I think just emailing the winners personally is enough. People can check their spam folders.

I really like and appreciate that you post the daily winner’s here on your blog! I read it all the time and it’s nice to not have to search for the information.
I like that you post it here and on facebook for us to see. I like checking the contests to see who won etc. As for it taking up space etc.. a winners PAGE that is more brief ( Date/Prize/Winner) or posting it on the actual contest entry page are my best suggestions.
Regardless… You are doing wonderful just the way you are doing it now. Keep the blog rolling 🙂
We just want to make it CLEAR….winners will always be notified via email. That will never change.
What we were asking is…do you all like the daily winner’s post here on our blog? A lot of the blogs have stopped posting winners and just email winners.
As someone who also enters giveaways on other blogs, I like seeing a public post on who the winner’s were. I don’t like scrolling back through weeks of posts to look at a Rafflecopter or Giveaway Tools form. That is my personal opinions on it. I have always felt that winners should be disclosed publicly on a blog.
Since we noticed numerous blogs (way too many to count) who have stopped posting winners…we wanted to get your thoughts on it.
I don’t mind if you post the winners on the blog or Facebook. I think both are fine by me in terms of public exposure. The only preference I have is to have an e-mail sent if I did win. Twitter, on the other hand, I’m a bit confused by. Would you just be posting the winners as a tweet? I suppose that’s completely fine too. I can always make sure to check the blog or the social sites, depending on where you do decide to post the names. Thank you for asking us our opinion, it’s very considerate of y’all.

It might be easier and less work for you to post the winners weekly. I always read my emails and so far haven’t had a problem getting yours. I read it everyday as your blog is one of my favorites. 🙂

Thanks everyone for your opinions. One of the reasons we make a separate post for the winners every day is so that it shows up in our daily email newsletter. If we make just a page and update that page weekly with winner’s names, that info will NOT transfer thru to our daily newsletter. The ONLY way for us to get the information into the newsletter (daily) is to do a daily winner’s post.
Yes I love that you post winners on your newsletter. So many blogs do not post their winners and I’m left wondering “well I guess I didn’t win that giveaway” I don’t do facebook except to like someone as an entry on a giveaway. I don’t like posting winners on the rafflecopter entry because by the time I check to see who won, the rafflecopter giveaway is gone. I get alot of newsletters and Two Classy Chicks is the best one that I get. Thanks for all your giveaways and I check them all daily .
I like seeing the information here, but you could just have a weekly winners’ list – as long as you email me when I am a winner! If it is really makes too much estra work find another way of handling it.YTou are very considreate to ask for our opinions. Rest this weekend and feel better. I think it is a good idea to post on Twitter and Facebook. I am there daily and would be more likely to see the post. Post in all places.
I think it’s good to post winners, but if it’s a lot of work to post them on the individual giveaways, it’d be fine to have a winners page that you update weekly or whatever works for you. Just have a system and stick with it.

No strong feelings either way. As long as you email me when I win…. I think having just one winners page is a good idea if it makes it simpler for you.
Just to clarify, Sherry. We won’t post the winners names on facebook or twitter, it is just the link to the posting on this site so people can see it is published. Plus you can go back several days or weeks using the Winners Category on the sidebar here.
I posted winners for a while, but now I just have a page I update with winners along with a link to each giveaway. It isn’t 100% updated because I’m always behind but the winners are on the Rafflecopter in the original posts too. I do plan to go back and remove the expired Rafflecopters soon, I will either add the winners name to the top of the post or just a link to my winners page.

I like seeing who wins and congratulating them in my head sometimes. 🙂 I don’t really feel comfortable with Facebook or Twitter because I don’t know much about their privacy and haven’t heard good things. That makes me a little nervous, but I trust your judgement on that since I don’t really know about them. Thank you for the continued giveaways and reviews.
