For the past 8 months I have been telling you all about the various plumbing problems we have been experiencing over here at our new house. Well guess what? We had another one last weekend and needed to call the professionals from Roto-Rooter.
For those of you who are new here, we bought an older home that was built back in the late 1960’s and have been remodeling it. We finally moved into the home back on January 4th of 2013 and since moving in…all kinds of plumbing problems! The previous home owners never upgraded anything in the home and that includes the aging pipes!
Here is a run-down of some of the plumbing problems we have experienced the past 9 months!
* Toilet Clogs (way too many to count)
* Mainline Drain Clog (twice)
* 2 Pipes in Basement Busted
* Kitchen Sink Drain (continually clogs up)
* Guest Bathroom Shower/Tub Drain (frequently clogs up)
Well guess what? On Saturday I went down into my laundry room to do the laundry and there was water all over the floor! Seriously, about 2″ deep water laying on the floor and I had no idea where it was coming from.
Hubby came down into the laundry room and found another busted pipe that leads to my washing machine. Ugh, what a mess we had on our hands! We had to call the professionals “AGAIN” to come out and fix our newest plumbing problem.
We are very fortunate that they have emergency hours and weekend emergency hours and came right out and fixed our problem. Once they were done, hubby got busy removing all of that water from our laundry room floor.
Once Spring arrives, hubby is going to get busy replacing most of the pipes here in our home with new ones, so that these plumbing problems come to an end. I will be VERY happy once we get the problem fixed up, as it’s becoming a real pain in the butt!
Have any of you ever bought an older home and had these types of problems? If so, what did you do about it? I would love to get some advice, if you have any to share with me!

My suggestion for the toilet clogs is to flush more “in between” and pour warm water down and flush afterwards. I am sorry you have had so many problems with youre= pipes. It is great that Roto-Rooter comes to you at all hours.
