How to Find a Good Professional Plumber
Last year my husband and I purchased an older home and from day one…we fell in-love with it. Even though it was built 50+ years ago, it is charming and has a lot of potential. With that said, we have had a lot of plumbing problems with our old home and have had to call Roto-Rooter Experts on more than one occasion.
Here is a brief summary of some of the problems we have had to deal with:
* In our laundry room we have dealt with two busted pipes and a clogged drain. I do laundry almost every day, so when we have an issue in the laundry room, it really throws off my entire day.
* Our guest bathroom is a constant problem for us and I swear, the toilet and/or the tub drain in that bathroom clogs up at least once every two weeks! Sometimes a plunger will work and sometimes we need to call in the professionals.
* In our newly remodeled kitchen we have dealt with clogged drains, busted pipes underneath our new dishwasher and just recently my kitchen faucet got completely clogged up with dirty sediment.
* Last month we had to get a brand new hot water heater because the bad pipes leading into it…clogged up and broke down the old hot water heater. I didn’t appreciate having 2″ of water all over my basement floor that day!
Well, you are not going to believe our newest plumbing issue! My 4 year old god son came over for a visit last a few days ago and he flushed over 15 paper towels down our toilet! Oh my gosh…our toilet was clogged up biggie time and we had to call in the professionals to get it unclogged! At least this time, the problem wasn’t because of our aging old pipes!
Hubby and I are patiently awaiting the arrival of Spring here in Pennsylvania and then we are going to get busy replacing all of the old pipes in our home. We know this will be a big project, but we are determined to get it done and get it done quickly!
Do any of you live in an older home and deal with a lot of plumbing issues? If so, what did you do about it? I would love any advice that you may have for us!
