New Road Construction Work in our Neighborhood

February 25, 2013 by Shelly

Well, it’s Monday and guess what? We woke up early this morning to all kinds of road construction work going on in our neighborhood today. From what one of the workers told my husband, it will be going on all week long.

We are pretty happy about the work that is going on, because we have several big pot holes that need to be repaired. On top of that, several of our street signs are rusting and damaged, and they all need replaced too!

Just last week we had a major snow storm and a trash truck came barreling down our street and slid into one of our old stop signs. He really mangled up that stop sign and it has been laying on the ground ever since!

We are hoping that the township has listened to our request to have three No Parking Anytime Signs placed down our street. We get a lot of weird people parking down our street, half out onto the road and walking to the shopping center that is two blocks away. We really want that to end!

Hopefully by the weekend, our street will be quiet once again and be sparkling with all new street signs! I know that would make me and my neighbors pretty happy! So, what is going on in your neighborhood this week? Anything exciting or new?

Hope your road projects are over soon and turn out well. It can be very frustrating to deal with, but you hope the roads will be better afterwards. I just wish you would be given notice. It’s awful when you try to leave and can’t get out of your drive due to roadwork.

My street is not as exciting as yours! One of our neighbors had a small fire break out a few weeks back but beyond that it’s been quiet. I do though know all too well how streets need maintenance because I used to live on a street which had lots of cracks and holes probably due to the salt and sleet that would pile on during the winter! I hope everything on your street gets fixed up and signs are put anew in a short time!
