From Mom Blogger to Mom Blogger – Some Things Still Amaze Me

February 28, 2013 by Classystaff

Mom Blogger

You know, some things still amaze me. I have been blogging since 2004. That is almost 10 yrs! Back in the good old days when people were caring and treated each other right. The bloggers hung out together, got to know one another on forums and boards and were genuine and helpful to others. In fact, that is how Shelly and I first met. We were on the same mom boards and networks and became friends over 7 years ago or more. Then we had a great idea! Lets work on a review and giveaway blog for other moms and small businesses and we became the TwoClassyChics.

Suddenly we were thrown into a whole other world. A world where everything is a competition and many copy everything you do. A world where people that do not know you judge you and back stab you in every turn. It really amazes me.

In the past 3.5 years we have been blogging as TwoClassyChics, we have seen the blogging world change so much and in many cases, not for the better. I am shocked at how much this mom blog world is like high school. It is a world full of neighborhood gangs, cliques and power plays. If you don’t go along with the gang, then you are shunned.

Maybe I am too old for this crap. I don’t know, but what I do know is that I am tired of people judging our business and us personally when they do not know us nor have taken the time to do so. I am tired of people talking smack about us without coming to ask for the facts. I am tired of people spreading lies and gossip without knowing the facts.

Here is the truth: There are people that craft stories to make themselves look good! There are many people online are not who they seem to be.

There are certain people in this blogging “community” that have been listening to others that have been spreading malicious untruths about us for too long. We have chosen to keep our mouth shut on who they are and the terrible things they do to us and say about us behind our backs. Instead, we turn the other cheek and focus on the positive because that is what God calls us to do. The problem is they will not stop. Everything that goes wrong in their life, it becomes twisted to be our fault. The scary thing is that other people believe it!

Gossip that is based on jealousy and hate is a dangerous sword. Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV says: There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

So this is my announcement to the blogging world: If you choose to believe gossip and listen to it, that is your choice. If you really want to get to know who we are, come by and check us out on twitter and facebook and chat us up. What you see is what you get. We don’t make any false pretenses. We have nothing to hide because we have done nothing wrong. We are helpful, sharing, caring and a lot of fun.

For those of you that choose to believe negative talk, don’t bother.

As for us, we will continue to bring you the best reviews and giveaways possible. We have been around a lot longer than most and we are still the trendsetters when it comes to fresh and exciting products that are not seen on 100 different blogs. We work harder than many others out there and while lies may make somethings difficult, it makes us even stronger, more knowledgeable and more willing to persevere. We appreciate our followers and those that hang out with us. Thanks for making this all worthwhile!

My vent has now ended.

    Hey ladies,
I thought this stuff was all over with but apparently not. Sorry to hear that. I have to tell your readers, you gals have been there for me all along and Shelly is the person who helped me get started with my own blog and blogging. She helped me a lot and so did Chris. I appreciate you guys and what you have done for me and what you do for others.
My blog is far from as big or good as yours is but I keep working at it and if there is any negative stuff going on about mine, so far I haven’t heard it.(Besides, I really don’t care.)
I really hope this ends for you guys but I guess there is always going to be someone who is jealous or just plain likes to gossip and cause problems for others. Hold your heads up girls, you are doing a great job and I know how hard you work at it.
You are well appreciated by many so the few that cause problems, aren’t worth worrying about.
Keep on trucking, you are doing great.

I’m starting to experience the gossip and lies about me, my brand and my business.
It’s given me stomach ache for the last few days.
I don’t have any advice of suggestion except to keep doing what you’re doing.
Although I’m only experiencing one negative person right now – on the flip side I’ve met 5 other positive bloggers in the last month of so.
They appreciate what I do and share that in-person, on Google+ hangouts and on social media.

Keep your heads up and keep pressing on!

You know what Chris, at the end of the day just know that you and Shelly are real and run great blog with great reviews, honest reviews. Simple giveaways without all the bells and whistles requiring 100 entry options. It gets hard after awhile to keep turning the other cheek but your followers know who you both are. Clicks and gossip mongers are just like bullies to me, They aren’t happy unless they spread their malicious lies. But you know you run a great and informative Blog. And there will always be the trouble makers, just like you said , as if you were back in High School. :)This is one of my favorite blogs.
