Last weekend it was so nice out that we decided to get out of town for the day. I only live about 2 hours from San Francisco, so we took advantage of the awesome day and went to the city. Its was PACKED. I am not sure why as it was a Sunday and not a holiday at all, but we drove around and played tourist for a bit. One of the places that we went to see was the Presido, one of the oldest Military Bases in the US.
Unfortunately it is closed now as a base, but it has become home to businesses and private residences. One cool thing is that it a just around the corner from the Golden Gate Bridge as the base was there to protect our waterways and our coastline. I grabbed this shot from the base looking through the fencing to the Golden Gate Bridge at dusk. It was quite beautiful.
The The Golden Gate Bridge at Dusk is absolutely beautiful to see! While it’s gorgeous during the daytime hours, I think it’s even prettier right at sunset.

Ahh what a pretty photo! I briefly had a chance to travel across and see the Golden Gate Bridge, but it was so short-lived and I was in a car that it just really didn’t seem as awesome as this kind of picturesque view! I would love to go back to San Francisco and really get look at all of the attractions! Thanks for sharing the lovely photo!
Lovely pic!
Great picture! I haven’t been out there in quite a while!
Great picture – I do miss SF – haven’t been there for over 20 years!
I haven’t been there since it was a working base, about 30 years ago. Lovely picture.
That looks so cool. Although I was born in California, I haven’t been there in more than 40 years.
