My husband has been suffering with chronic back pain for the past 15 years and as time has went on, his back pain has gotten considerably worse. A few nights ago we were watching TV and a commercial came on for an Inversion Table which immediately peaked his interest.
After we finished watching TV, we got online to do some research on inversion tables and here is what we found out.
* Not all are created equal! You should only purchase a good quality inversion table that has safety features to help prevent you from harm.
* Inversion therapy is great for stretching the spine and some people refer to it as spinal traction.
* If you have high blood pressure, heart disease and/or glaucoma, consult a physician before trying this type of therapy.
* Scientific studies have shown that this type of therapy can help some people who suffer with chronic back pain.
* All tables are different! You should read the instructions and operating manual that comes with your table before using it for the first time. It is also recommended that you have someone else in the room with you when you go to use the table for the first couple of times.
* Patients report the best results when using inversion therapy along with other types of treatments/therapies.
* Tables are relatively affordable, priced from $100.00 to $600.00 each.
* Trying this type of therapy does not provide immediate relief! Those who practice inversion therapy typically state that it took some time before they noticed relief. Don’t expect an overnight miracle.
* When trying this type of therapy, it is also recommended that you try traditional stretching exercises and corrections to your posture to get the best benefits.
As you can see, there seems to be some benefit to using this type of therapy to help relieve lower back pain. After doing our research on the topic, hubby is going to go in and see his doctor to talk to him about it…after all, they recommend you see a doctor before trying out an inversion table.

My husband was told by his doctor not to use this type of therapy because of his other complications, so I don’t know much about it. I hope it workd for your husband.
If you have problems with vertigo or inner ear disorders, be very careful. I got incredibly dizzy when I tried it in therapy. I have had inner ear problems for many years off and on and this triggered it.
