The Statue of Liberty in New York City

New York Times Building in New York City

Back in January of 2012, my husband and I took a mini vacation up to New York City. It had been several years since we had visited the city and we were super excited to be visiting again.

When we go up to New York City we like to see a few Broadway Shows, a few music concerts, enjoy some fine dining, do lots of shopping, visit Times Square and Central Park, and of course check out a few of the statue of liberty tours.

New York City has a lot of fun and exciting entertainment venues and some of them are very family-friendly and low-cost. Then you have your expensive activities that are for families and/or couples to enjoy.

Well, when we were up in New York City last January we got to stay in a beautiful hotel right near Times Square. We really loved that eco-friendly hotel and perhaps we will stay there again soon.

In addition, we got to see a Broadway Show, doing some shopping, enjoyed dinner at Patsy’s Italian Restaurant, walked around Times Square, visited Central Park, checked out the New York Times Building and finally, a quick trip over to Ellis and Liberty Islands to see the Statue of Liberty.

We were able to squeeze all of our activities into 3 days and let me tell you, we were completely exhausted by the time our mini vacation ended. If we were going to do it all over again, we would definitely do 5 or 7 days for sure! That way we could relax in-between all of the activities.

Have any of you ever visited New York City? If so, what kind of things do you like to do while visiting the Big Apple?
