I was over on Twitter earlier today and someone on Twitter was talking about it being national Stepin a Puddle and Spash Your Friends Day which is always on January 11th. I was dumbfounded that there would even be a national day for that because I think it’s plain stupid. There are more important things we can/could be recognizing every day…than freaking mud puddles.
I then went and did a web search to see if it was even true and low & behold…it is! Wow! C’mon folks, do we not have better things to do? More important things to draw attention to? Heck, I was debating on whether to even blog about it as I don’t want to draw more attention to it! errrr!
From what I read, people are not sure where this day got started from and by whom…but in my personal opinion (although not worth much), I say we SCRAP that day and come up with some better and more important!
While I love all of the holidays and national “bring attention to this or that days”, this particular one has got to be one of the MOST stupid ones I have ever seen. Well, that is my big old vent for today! Your thoughts?

My daughter enjoys looking at all the fun and ridiculous holidays. Some of them can really add to your day where others you wonder about. Today is Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day. I think I will skip it and go right to tomorrow – National Strawberry Ice Cream Day!
There are so many ridiculour holidays that sometimes the more important ones get lost in the shuffle.
Well, it kind of denigrates the concept of having special days of remembrance, in history, persons, etc.
January 8th was National Bubble Bath Day. If they had truly been thinking they should have made it the day after Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day, right? The card companies are sooo missing out on all these wonderful days of celebration.
Reminds me of talk like a pirate day and a few other’s that I am baffled about!
