Not Your Mother’s Book…On Being a Woman by Dahlynn and Ken McKowen Book Review

My mom used to say that growing old isn’t for sissy’s. Sometimes I have to say that about being a Woman and a Mom. I had the opportunity to read a fun book about being a Woman and some of our trial and tribulations. Check this out.

My Thoughts:
I took this book with me on vacation, that turned out not to be a vacation at all. But I did get time to enjoy this book. Set up as a compilation of short stories by different authors, Not Your Mother’s Book . . . On Being a Woman is witty and fun to read. I found myself relating to many of the stories time and time again.

The stories have been gathered by the series creators Dahlynn and Ken McKowen and I love that they use stories from women of all ages. I think it is fun to read some of the issues that younger women have verses the growing older stages that other women fear (!) and experience. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, I related to a lot of the older women issues. LOL

A few of my favorite stories have to do with fighting the undergarment demon, which I think all women have been though; the Spam in a Can story having to do with menopause and cuuuute delivery drivers… That was funny and oh, so relate-able!; and Tan Lines, which I will let you read that and have your laughs.

The Not Your Mother’s Book . . . On Being a Woman is a fun, easy to read book that will make you smile, laugh and cringe too. The stories are written by women from all over and in all age groups and will make you forget your own worries for a few minutes. Maybe these stories will bring out your own memories of similar issues. The authors make fun of their life situations and the truth we all face as women.

Give it a read for a fun, lighthearted look at Women at their Best!
