Dealing with Plumbing Problems in Old Homes

Four years ago my hubby and I made the decision to purchase an older home that we had fallen in-love with. This old home is very spacious and has a lot of charm…but, it needs a lot of work!

One of the issues we are currently having with the home is old plumbing…I bet that plumbing is 30 to 40 years old! Repiping a home is better done when handed over to the professionals. Well, over the weekend our plumbing got all backed up and we needed some emergency help.

I thought back to the time when we were in North Carolina visiting my sister and in one day she had 3 clogged drains. According to Morris Jenkins, it’s best to hire professionals to deal with these problems as soon as they occur. Often times home owners try to unclog the drains themselves and that typically makes the problem worse. We decided to not mess around with it and called the professionals to come out deal with the problem.

The repairman arrived about 2 hours later and immediately got busy unclogging our main line drain. That clogged drain was backing up all of the drains in our house…ugh! About 45 minutes later he had the main line drain cleared out and everything was flowing again. I was super happy about that!

Our move went well but I am still very busy unpacking boxes and trying to get things stored away. I guess I need to learn patience as I am really stressing out about all of these moving boxes being stacked up in every room of our new home. Sigh, hopefully we can get unpacked soon!
