We purchased our older home about 4 1/2 years ago and since that time…we have had a lot of plumbing issues! Our home was built in the 1960’s and the plumbing was all original when we moved in.
Just this past Summer, hubby started replacing some of the pipes and then realized that this was a bigger job than what he could handle. We knew then that it was time to call some plumbing professionals to get the job done and get it done right.
Well, just last week the main line pipe clogged up (it hasn’t been replaced yet) and we needed to call a plumbing company to come out to unclog it. I think it’s great that they offer emergency and weekend service here in our area!
We called into the plumbing company and they got some information from us about our current plumbing problem and got directions to our home. Within two hours, the professional plumber arrived. After taking a look at our problem, he immediately got to work on unclogging our main line drain.
The entire process took him a little over an hour and once he was done…our water from all of our sinks and toilets were indeed draining correctly. Yeah! I tell ya, nothing makes me happier than to be able to run water and flush toilets again!
We were really impressed with the plumbers knowledge, quickness and his professionalism. It is always nice to deal with real professionals who work in the service industry who enjoy their jobs! It makes the entire experience much more enjoyable for both parties.
Now that our main line drain is flowing correctly again, hubby is going to hire a plumber to come into our home and get all of our kitchen pipes and laundry room pipes replaced. The bathroom plumbing was done this past summer, but the kitchen and laundry room still need to be done.
Have any of you ever dealt with a main line clog before? If so, what did you do about it? I really dislike plumbing problems, but I sure am glad that there are professional plumbers out there who can come out and fix the problem quickly!

My age is telling. I read ‘bought an older home’ and I thought 1940s. To me an older home is one that’s older than I am. I’ve lived in my house for 25 years and luckily haven’t had a plumbing problem. Water heater & furnace – yes.
