We are now on the final approach heading into the holidays and already I am seeing a lot of the classic children’s holiday specials on TV. When my brother and I were young kids, we always looked forward to the holiday specials and would watch them with our mother as a “family” event.
We loved sitting down and watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Frost the Snowman, Frosty Returns, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and so forth! When my daughter was little, we did the “family” holiday TV time with her and now we are doing it again with our little 3 1/2 year old grand daughter.
My question for all of you today is two-fold:
1. Which children’s holiday specials are your favorite?
2. Do you sit down as a family and watch them and do you do anything special to make it a “special time” with your kids?
I would love to hear all about it if you wouldn’t mind sharing, so please feel free to leave your comments below in our blog’s comment form! Thanks!

Two of my favorites are: The Little Drummer Boy and Frosty, but I also love Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph, How the Grinch, etc.
One of my favorite holiday traditions is watching Christmas movies with my family. We enjoy the specials, too. They really get us involved in the season. As my kids have grown up, we still watch some of the original cartoons but now we have added other shows, too. My daughter will pull out a Christmas episode from Friends or Big Bang Theory and we will watch it. She will record some other TV shows for their Christmas episodes, too. Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Flintstones are still big favorite holiday cartoons. This year I watched the special with the Madagascar Christmas and Shrek the Halls. Hope you are enjoying all the shows, too!
