Easy Holiday Cookie Storage Tips
It is holiday baking time and there are many people I know that have cookie sharing parties. My girlfriend holds one every year and the girls all get together and bake for hours and at the end they split up the cookies between the all. They make about 10-15 different types of cookies and bars and delicious goodies! Yumm
Unless you have a big household, there is no way that I could have more than a dozen or so at my home at one time so getting some storage tips was important for me. So I thought I would share them with you.
Easy Holiday Cookie Storage Tips
1) Cookies with strong contrasting flavors should be stored separately.
2) Cookies can be frozen up to 3 months depending on what is in them. Most of them are okay to freeze.
3) Cookies do keep longer in a sealed container in the refrigerator
4) Add 1/2 to 1 slice of bread to each container of cookies you store. This helps to absorb moisture and odors. Change out the bread every 3-4 days.
5) Let your cookies cool completely before placing in your storage containers. They do best when layered in an airtight container. Placing wax paper in between the layer will insure that they will not stick together.
