Meet Me At Emotional Baggage Claim Audio Book
There is nothing quite like the relationship of a mother and daughter. In the younger years, sometime it is turbulent but as we grow older, moms are the go to person for everything. My Mom was my rock and the faster time flies, the more I miss the closeness we had together. We would call each other at the same time. When she was sick, I flew in and surprised her with a long weekend trip and she just said, “I knew you would come”. I really miss that bond we had.
There is a brand new book out just in time for some great quiet times this holiday season. Together again is the Mother and Daughter team of Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella, authors of a humorous column in the The Philadelphia Inquirer, where they write about their lives as mother and daughter. This new book is a collection of their essays that they have written and shared their relationship with the world.

About the Book:
Love and guilt are thick in the Scottoline/Serritella household, and Lisa and Francesca’s mother-daughter-turned-best-friends bond will strike a familiar note to many. But now that Lisa is a suburban empty nester and Francesca is an independent twentysomething in the big city, they have to learn how to stay close while living apart. How does a mother’s love translate across state lines and over any semblance of personal boundaries? You’ll laugh out loud as they face off over the proper technique for packing dishes, the importance of bringing a coat in summertime, and the dos and don’ts of dating at any age. Add feisty octogenarian Mother Mary to the mix, and you have a Molotov cocktail of estrogen, opinions, and fun.
Read by the authors in their own hilarious, witty, and endearing voices, these stories will make you laugh, cry, and call your mother, daughter, and all your girlfriends.
My Thoughts:
Listening to this book, while humorous and fun, it really brought back the memories of my mom and my bond together. The fun times, the quiet times and how much I am becoming just like her – YIKES. Over the years I had plenty of eye rolling moments with my mom so relating to the relationship the Francesca and Lisa have is oh, so similar.
The authors stories are fun and listening to them actually read and recount their “side” of the story brings the book to life. You get a peek inside their long distance relationship… that is not hampered by the miles – maybe it is even enhanced. Continual phone conversations and frequent visits keep them close.
Everyday life is not so everyday when day to day activities become a reason to show their different view and beliefs. Lisa, the mom that knows whats best and Francesca, the daughter that is trying to assert her own opinions and strike a balance between moms views and reality LOL… remember the eye rolls? You can almost hear them HAHA
This is a fun book of collective stories that you will enjoy reading for a flashback to your own relationship with your mom. The good, the crazy and the not so good. Enjoy the read!
