For our review, we received the Hotpak Huggies Big Hug A Turtle to review for all of you. This 16″ around turtle is both a microwavable heating pad and a freezable cold pack, thanks to the large gel pack inside his turtle shell. The entire turtle is microwave and freezer safe, so it has a dual purpose!
Princess Gia suffers with a lot of tummy aches and has a few minor bladder issues. She gets belly aches and belly pains quite often, but I don’t let her use an electrical heating pad at all. These Hotpak Huggies are fabulous for children and for the purpose of this review, we used ours as a heating pad.
I placed the entire turtle into the microwave and microwaved it at 20 second intervals until it was nice and hot. I removed the turtle and left it cool for a minute or two and then gave it to Princess Gia to hold on her belly. The turtle stays nice and warm for hours…we counted at least 3 hours and their web site says 6 hours and I can totally believe that! The entire gel pack is permanently inside the turtle so you do not have to worry about your kids removing it at all.
These Hotpak Huggies are perfect for children and adults! I have used the turtle myself and I love it! It’s great for snuggle time and it’s great for when you need a heating pad or a cold pack! I just love the design and the way this is made. This hot pack is just made for cuddling and is great for aches and pains and even cramps. The fact that the heat will last for 6 hours is amazing! Plus you can freeze it too! This is awesome. I love using it in the evenings after I get done with work and placing it on my sore neck. It is awesome!
