Fall and Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas

Fall and Thanksgiving Decorating Ideas

I love to decorate my home and my outdoor spaces (including the yard) as the seasons change. When our daughter was really little, we went all out on decorating our home. Then a few years ago we got lazy and only did a little bit of decorating because we no longer had children at home.

Well, things are changing again! Now that we will be moving into our new house in 3 weeks, we have been busy doing some inside and outside holiday decorating again! We are now excited and found our energy to get out all of our Fall and Thanksgiving decorations and that is mostly due to having a 3 1/2 year old grandchild who is excited about all of the upcoming holidays.

My question for all of you today is this…

How many of you do indoor and/or outdoor decorating for the Thanksgiving holiday? Do you only do a little bit of decorating or do you go “all out” for the Thanksgiving holiday? What kinds of things do you like to use in your decorating?

My hubby just ordered a really cool Turkey that inflates for our front yard and that thing should be here any day. I think the Princess Gia is going to love it when she sees it!

This coming weekend he is going to put up some of our holiday lights, our outdoor holiday flags and some other yard art decorations that we have.

I do only a little bit of decorating for the Thanksgiving holiday, and a lot for Christmas. I imagine that when I have grandchildren I shall do more decoration.

I try to decorate my front porch as the seasons change. My three tiered corner plant stand becomes the perfect way to show off fall’s pumpkins and gourds. I will often put a wreath of colorful leaves on the door.

I don’t do a whole lot for Thanksgiving. I have a table centerpiece and a wreath for the door. I usually decorate for Christmas right before Thanksgiving, because we go away that weekend.

    • I usually start my Christmas decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, this year we are super excited to be moving into a new house right before the holidays and our 3 1/2 year old grand daughter is old enough to be excited about the holidays which makes us excited! LOL

  4. Oh, I love that idea! We have a large front porch, a small front porch and one large back deck. I got 3 outside areas to decorate. Hubby does have some white twinkling solar lights wrapped around one bush so far and around our lamp post.
