Our Thoughts: Princess Gia is 3 1/2 years old and has had some health problems the past year and a half. She calls going to the doctor “Going to the doctor’s house” and absolutely hates it! (I can’t say I blame her). However, it is always a crying and screaming match as soon as we arrive at the doctor’s office.
I have been reading some books to her about going to the doctor’s but those have not phased her at all. I was really excited to get this Barney DVD and sit down & watch it with her. On the first day that it arrived, we watched the first episode 3 times and the other two episodes once. What we love about the “My Friends, the Doctor & the Dentist” is that they are helping her, albeit, slowly…to realize that they are her friends and that they are trying to help her to feel better.
She hasn’t been to a dentist yet, but that is on our to-do list for the first week in December, hopefully because we have been watching this video and preparing her ahead of time, it won’t be such a fight once we get to the dentist’s office.
I think these type of DVD’s/Videos are much needed and I would LOVE to see
